Year 12 Music Concert

The Year 12 students delivered a spectacular performance on the evening of Monday 9th September during Arts Week, impressing family and friends with their incredible talent and perseverance. I'm constantly amazed by their dedication, even in challenging and busy times. Not even a broken foot could stop Keziah from rocking out on the drums!

This performance marked the final time these students would take the stage at Chelt.Sec, adding a bittersweet tone to the evening. Watching them grow into the talented performers they are today has been an absolute joy.

As I bid farewell to the Year 12s, I wish each of you the very best in your upcoming exams and auditions. Here's to the many exciting adventures that lie ahead for you all!

Thank you to Mr. Meyer and the instrumental team, past students, current music students in years 9 and 10, and to all the families that have supported our Year 12 performers on their musical journeys. These concerts would not be possible without you.

Year 12 performers: Luca G., Keziah H., Paige K., Fred L., Jet McC., James N., Ethan R., Gabriel S., Jovan S., Georgia S., Jackie W., Louis W. and  Marc Z.

Music on Tour

On the 4th of September, the Instrumental Music Program’s Junior Band, Concert Band and Stage Band performed for the Grade 5 students of Dingley Primary School. The three bands performed songs such as; Seven Nation Army, which was performed by Junior Band, Funky Town which was performed by Concert Band, and Ain’t No Mountain High Enough which was performed by Stage Band. After the performances, instruments such as trombone, bass guitar, drums, piano and many more were available for the Grade 5 students to trial and play. As a part of Stage Band, I really enjoyed visiting and performing for the Dingley Primary School students. It was a really fun experience, especially because I am a former student of Dingley Primary School. Being a part of the Instrumental Music Program at Cheltenham Secondary College is amazing, as it allowed me to meet and connect with other students who have a passion for music. Furthermore, the music program has given me opportunities to perform for my peers in and outside of the college. - Dominique R., Year 9
