Assistant Principal Report

A Positive and Productive Start!

We are delighted with the strong and settled start to the year.

Students have returned focused, engaged and ready to learn, and there has been a wonderful sense of energy across the college.

A highlight has been the introduction of our new hands-on learning program.

A group of students are now spending one day each week at the KIOSC Trade Training Centre, developing practical skills in carpentry, plumbing and other trades. This initiative is already proving to be a highly engaging pathway, giving students valuable real-world experience and exposure to future career opportunities.

Student wellbeing has also been a strong focus. Smile Squad has seen nearly one fifth of our student population, providing important access to free dental care and supporting students’ health and confidence.

Our SOAR High Achievers Program has now begun its testing phase, with students completing the ACER HAST assessments.

We are excited to see this extension program take shape and to support our high-achieving students to further challenge themselves.

It has been a fantastic start, and we look forward to the many opportunities ahead this year.
