Level 6 End-of-Term Newsletter

We hope you and your students are well. It has been a busy and highly successful fortnight, and we are so proud of the extraordinary performances and creative flair our Level 6 students have displayed.

Our piratical musical was a standout highlight. The story followed adventurous twins Jack and Liza Periwinkle as they discovered a treasure map, faced the notorious Redbeard and his Pirates of the Curry Bean, and sailed from Old London Docks to the island of Lumbago in the Sea of Sciatica. With colourful characters, sparkling songs, and a witty script, the production showcased exceptional creativity and theatrical skill. Many Level 6 students took the main parts and brought these roles to life with real enthusiasm and thespian vigour. Strong stage presence, bold choices, and clear characters engaged every audience member. It was amazing to witness the remarkable expression, confidence, and pure enjoyment the entire school felt and displayed. The dedication of the Level 6 students, from rehearsals to the final bow, was clear to everyone watching. Behind the scenes, our stage crew, costume designers, and tech team worked tirelessly to create seamless scene changes, striking costumes, and effective lighting and sound; their contributions were vital to the overall success.

Across rehearsals and performances, we saw a true never-give-up attitude and resilience. When lines needed polishing, when choreography required extra runs, or when tech hiccups occurred, students responded calmly and kept working until the scene shone. That persistence helped quieter cast members grow in confidence and allowed the whole student body to lift the show beyond expectation. Amazing! A really big thank you to all the teachers that spent soooo much time preparing the students. Special thanks to the incredible Emma Austin and the too many others to mention.

Also, huge congratulations to our Level 6 athletes who represented the school at the Sports Gala Day. Our teams demonstrated outstanding sportsmanship across Aussie Rules, Softball, Lawn Bowls, Touch Football, Soccer, and Netball. Their athletic endeavour was marked not just by skill but by teamwork: players supported one another on the field, communicated clearly during play, and celebrated efforts as much as whether they won or lost. In all our matches students displayed resilience by staying focused after setbacks and pushing to participate fully. Thank you to the teacher and parent volunteers who ran practice sessions and supported students on the day; your commitment helped prepare them to perform at their best. 

Term 2 has been a wonderful demonstration of excellent behaviour, strong work habits, and a positive attitude from our Level 6 cohort. Enjoy a well-deserved, restful holiday, come back refreshed and ready for an amazing Term 3. Congratulations to every student: you all rocked it!
