Production - Pirates of the Curry Bean
What an absolutely amazing production we had this year. Our level 1 students showed commitment, dedication and so much pizazz with their performance of Anchors Away and should be so proud of themselves. We hope you enjoyed the production as much as they did performing.
Literacy
Students have been exploring how authors use good word choices and reasons to share their opinions to convince their readers.
Students have been learning that persuasive writing is about more than just stating what they think — it is about choosing strong words and explaining why they believe something and to convince others of their opinion.
Students firstly chose and wrote about what they think is the best food or football team and then created a poster to convince people that their choice is the best and gave reasons to support why.
Numeracy
In Maths, students have been developing their understanding of addition by exploring open-ended problems and finding different ways to solve them. Students have been encouraged to think flexibly, choose strategies that make sense to them, and explain their mathematical thinking.
Through hands-on activities, discussions and problem-solving tasks, students have been using known strategies such as counting on, using doubles and near doubles, and partitioning numbers to find solutions.
Aim High Awards
Congratulations to our wonderful Aim High recipients for this term. They have demonstrated our school values in all areas of their learning and should be very proud of this achievement.
