Art Making and Exhibiting Excursion

Tuesday February 27, marked a significant day for the VCE Art Making and Exhibiting students as they embarked on their first excursion of 2024 to the heart of the city. Venturing forth, they delved into the vibrant world of art, immersing themselves in an array of captivating works at both NGV International and the Ian Potter Centre: NGV, where the NGV Triennial and Wurrdha-Marra exhibitions awaited their eager exploration.

Guided by an NGV educator, our visit unfolded into an enlightening journey. Through the expertise of our guide, we gained invaluable insights into the meticulous considerations undertaken by curators, exhibition designers, and conservators in the curation, presentation, and preservation of artworks. It was a lesson not only in art appreciation but also in the consideration behind creating immersive experiences.

We marvelled at the deliberate juxtaposition of historical treasures and contemporary masterpieces, skilfully orchestrated to captivate the senses, ignite intellectual discourse, and stir the emotions of all who behold them. The NGV's artful fusion of past and present within its exhibition spaces served as a testament to its commitment to fostering visual intrigue and meaningful engagement among its audience.
