Year 9 Update
Walking the tightrope
It is important to acknowledge the increasing workload our Year 9 students are facing. With homework assignments due, preparation for upcoming assessments, and the excitement of the City Challenge, our students are undoubtedly juggling multiple responsibilities. Though, it is nothing they cannot face.
Striking a balance between academic rigour and student wellbeing is paramount, and while it is natural for students to feel the pressure during these times it is essential that we support them in managing their workload effectively. Encourage your child to prioritise tasks, utilise time management techniques, and seek help when needed. Remind them that it is okay to ask for assistance from teachers or peers if they are struggling with coursework. Finally, balancing academics with sports and hobbies outside of school is vital to our girls’ wellbeing.
As preparations for the City Challenge are in full swing – an exciting program is being developed including a range of activities and experiences – I encourage students to embrace this opportunity for growth and teamwork. Engaging in extracurricular activities not only enriches their learning experience but also fosters valuable skills such as collaboration, problem-solving, and resilience.
We hope our Year 9 students feel empowered to navigate this busy period with confidence and resilience. With your support and encouragement, I am confident that they will rise to the challenge and achieve success in all their endeavours.
“Life is a tightrope walk, with work on one end and personal life on the other. Finding balance means staying centered, one step at a time, never letting either end pull you too far.”
