Dance and Drama

Our Dance and Drama students are already working so hard to prepare for performances and events this year.  The Dance Ensemble has worked really hard to prepare their audition video for the In The Spotlight Dance Festival.  We have our fingers crossed that our item will be selected for this year’s festival.  Both the Dance Ensemble and the Ballroom Dance Ensemble have been entered into the Southern Tablelands Dance Festival to be held mid-June, as well.  Many of our Dance and Drama students are frantically preparing for Talent Quest 2026.

The Drama Ensemble are preparing for their CAPA Evening performance at the moment.  Year 9 Drama are looking forward to creating their CAPA Evening piece for Year 9 & 10 CAPA Evening in late Term 2.  Year 11 Drama are frantically preparing their piece for the In The Spotlight Drama Festival to be held in early August.

Music and Entertainment

The Music Ensemble - Instrumental is in full swing preparing for performance opportunities this year.  Everyone is learning some new songs to add to their traditional repertoire.  Many of our Music students are frantically preparing for Talent Quest 2026.

Visual Arts

As we reflect on a busy Term 1, it's evident that creativity knows no bounds within our students. From captivating exhibitions to amazing artworks, our students and faculty have embraced every opportunity to explore, experiment, and express ourselves through the vibrant world of Visual Arts.

Year 11 and 12 Art Express

Our Year 11 and 12 Visual Arts class went to the Art Gallery of NSW to view the current Art Express exhibition along with the gallery's current collections.  Art Express includes examples of outstanding bodies of work from HSC students from 2025.  Ms Mangion and the students had a great day in the city sightseeing and viewing the amazing collection of works that the AGNSW had on display.

Visual Arts Club

Visual Arts Art Club has started up again this year and the students have already made new friendships through artmaking activities. Visual Arts club plays a vital role in nurturing creativity and personal growth among students. This term, students have been busily working in the background for Elderslie High School Musical. Through lots of laughter and painting, the students have been designing and painting the canvas for the Mamma Mia, The Musical. Once they have completed the canvas, they will start creating the sets needed for our musical. Watch this space for more exciting artworks and projects to come from our talented students.

The Camden Show

For the third time this year, some of our Visual Arts Club students have participated in Camden Show, by entering their artworks in the competition to be judged by the judges at Camden Show. We had a number of wonderful artworks on display in the pavilion and it is a delight to announce that one of our participating students received Second Place, Scarlett Bowser from Year 11 and one student received a Highly Commended Award from Year 8.  Congratulations!

As an informal assessment, Year 7 students have created some amazing Talent Quest posters. Some of the students then entered the Poster Competition.
