Support Unit

ONSLOW is the newest addition to the Support Unit, featuring a self-contained demountable. Learning here never stops—and it’s always fun!
This term, we’ve been busy exploring new skills and exciting experiences. Students have been learning to play instruments, visiting the Ag Plot to care for farm animals, and looking after their very own chickens, which they can purchase at the end of term.
We’re also thrilled to welcome our new SLSO, Ms. Thai, who has helped create a calm corner in the classroom with plushies for quiet reading or focused work.
Students have also been developing their social skills during our combined social skills lessons, where they get the opportunity to network with students from other classrooms. In these lessons, they also learn fun new skills such as yoga, origami, and team-building activities.
In the classroom, we’ve been diving into Ancient Rome, creating mind maps on our tech and even cooking an Ancient Roman recipe with Mrs. Shaji! We’ve also been learning about Indian culture through the language Hindi.
In English, students have been reading Drought and exploring language techniques, while PE has focused on fitness and athletics. We’ve also been learning the importance of understanding ourselves and building self-awareness.
It’s been a busy and exciting term at ONSLOW, and we are so proud of the curiosity and enthusiasm our students bring to their learning every day!
