Visual Arts

Wow! What a first term it has been with so many amazing artworks being created and in the process of being created.

In Foundation, students have been inquiring into Primary Colours and mixing these to create new and wonderful colours. They are now in the process of sculpting - using clay to make pinch pots and pinch pot monsters.

Years One and Two students have completed their inquiry into the way art can be used to convey emotions, creating collages that can change feelings. These movable creations were made using a variety of different materials and adhesives. They turned out terrific!!

Years Three and Four artists did an artist study on Canadian contemporary artist Sandra Silberzweig. They discovered that Sandra has used her condition - synesthesia (not only can Sandra see colours but can also hear and taste them) as a catalyst to create art. Students were inspired by her art and created their own.

Year Five students are in the process of creating a Stop Motion piece. They are collecting their materials and creating backdrops so they can begin to make their media art.

Finally, Year Six students have finished creating modroc masks. These were so diverse and inspired by so many different factors. Year Six students are now just beginning to design their part in the 2026 Legacy Piece which will be gifted to the school at the end of the year.
