Spotlight on Learning

Dear Families,

This week, our students joined the Ephesus Community for a special Mass celebrating the Feast of the Annunciation on 25th March. We wrapped up our swimming sessions, practicing essential water safety and refining a range of swimming skills.

Religious Education

This week, students are learning about the events of Holy Week and how they are remembered during Mass through prayers, readings and rituals. They are also exploring how the Church prepares for Easter through Lent, including the use of symbols, colours and music.

English

This week in English, students are focusing on developing their reading and writing skills. They are reading and responding to texts, identifying key ideas, and supporting their answers with evidence. In writing, students are working on constructing clear sentences, using correct grammar and punctuation, and organising their ideas into structured paragraphs.

Mathematics

This week in Mathematics, students are learning to determine finish times when given a start time and elapsed time to the hour. They are using strategies such as number lines and counting on to solve problems, including those that stay within the same half of the day and those that cross midday or midnight.

Integrated Studies

This week in Integrated Studies, students are exploring how time is used in everyday life by solving real-world problems involving start times and elapsed time. They are using strategies such as number lines and counting on to determine finish times, including situations that cross midday or midnight.
