Year 6

Spotlight on Learning

Bethlehem Community

Dear Families,

As we approach the end of Term 1, the Year 6 students have been actively involved in a range of meaningful and engaging experiences.

On Wednesday, students enjoyed a fun-filled day of interschool sport, competing against

Year 6 students from St Agatha's and St Therese's. It was wonderful to see the children demonstrate excellent teamwork, sportsmanship, and encouragement towards one another throughout the day.

A reminder that Year 6 students and staff will not be at school on Tuesday 31st March as they prepare for the upcoming school camp. We look forward to sharing more about this exciting experience in the next newsletter.

English

In English, students are learning to decode words by identifying Latin and Greek roots such as pter (wing) and don (teeth). This helps them understand the meaning of unfamiliar words and build their vocabulary and spelling skills.

Mathematics

In Mathematics, students are learning to identify patterns in output sequences generated by different algorithms. This helps them recognise relationships between numbers and strengthens their algebraic thinking skills.

Religious Education

As part of our Lenten journey, students have participated in the Big Water Walk fundraiser, raising awareness and money for Caritas Australia. This important initiative supports vulnerable communities around the world by helping provide access to clean, running water.

We look forward to another great week of learning in Year 6!
