Religious Education & Parish News

Our hearts were absolutely bursting with pride this week as more than 60 St Thomas children received the Sacrament of Reconciliation on Wednesday and Thursday. It was such a beautiful moment for our whole community, watching our students take this important step in their faith journey with so much sincerity and courage.

Reconciliation is such a special part of our Catholic life. It is a chance to pause, reflect, say sorry, and feel the peace that comes from God’s loving forgiveness. Our children experienced that sense of calm and renewal, supported by our wonderful parish priests, their teachers, and their families who have been guiding them so gently along the way.

Over the past few weeks, the students have been learning about God’s mercy, what it means to make good choices, and how to reflect with an open heart. All of that preparation really shone through. You could see how seriously they took the moment and how proud they were afterwards.

We are so grateful to everyone who helped make these days so meaningful. It truly felt like a celebration of faith, community, and the growing hearts of our children.

A very special week for St Thomas. Here's a few photos!

On Wednesday, Mass was led by Year Three and attended by Year Four as their guests.

We celebrated a truly lovely Mass together. Our readers were confident, and the children gave thoughtful and sincere responses to Father James as he spoke about the Feast of the Annunciation.

The Feast of the Annunciation is the day we remember when the Angel Gabriel visited Mary and told her she would become the mother of Jesus. It is a celebration of Mary’s courage and her willingness to say “yes” to God.

The children were amazing throughout the celebration. They read beautifully, sang with enthusiasm, and spoke with Father James in such a friendly and respectful way. Their reverence and excitement helped create a joyful and prayerful atmosphere for our whole school community.

It was a special moment made even more meaningful by the children’s wonderful participation.
