Vive les crêpes!
Once again, the Languages Department started Term 3 with our annual Crêpe Day in honour of Bastille Day, which commemorates the French Revolution.
This year, in the spirit of the Paris Olympics, the Year 9 and 10 French students went faster, higher and stronger, cooking (and flipping!) a record number of crêpes in record time!
The VCE French class also set a new record for serving all of the crêpes only 10 minutes into lunchtime!
Un grand merci to Paula and Frances in the kitchen for their advice and support on the day, to Caitlin Marshall for co-ordinating our use of the space and to the French staff for their organisation of the event.
How do the French celebrate on Bastille Day?
In Paris, the traditional military parade on the Champs-Elysées is a meticulously planned spectacle, and dancing and fireworks displays or special illuminations are organized all over the country!
