Year 8 Indonesian Banquet

Year 8 Indonesian finished up the year with a 4 course banquet cooked by the students themselves! Enak sekali! (Delicious!). They cooked up an enormous plate of Mie Goreng (Fried Noodles) that was very popular. This was accompanied by delicious Satay Ayam (Grilled Chicken on skewer), dipped in a spicy dunking sauce made up of soya sauce and sambal oelek. The next course consisted of two platters of Gado-Gado (Vegetable salad) which was a delight to the eye with all its vibrant colour. Dessert came next. It resembled green pancakes but was in fact Kue Dadar Gulung - a pancake mixture flavoured with green pandan extract and filled with a delicious mixture of coconut and palm sugar. A very popular item on the banquet table! The banquet was completed with a serve of Es Campur - mixed fruit salad served in coconut water. The students had a great time cooking up a storm and then sharing this fabulous meal with their friends. Thanks to everyone who put in such a great effort! Luar biasa! (Extraordinary!)
