Wellbeing

‘Wear It Purple Day’ is marked on the 29th August this year. It is a day that unites LGBTQIA+ youth and allies to shine a glorious light on the thousands of schools, community organisations, universities, and workplaces that come together to create a more inclusive future for all Australians.
This year at TPS, our ‘Wear It Purple Day’ celebration was organized by the Rainbow Club, a group of students who are passionate about supporting the representation and wellbeing of their friends, family and themselves!
The Rainbow Club asked the TPS community to donate cakes for a lunchtime bake sale. All money raised from the bake sale will go to Minus 18, a non-profit organization who are working to create an Australia where all young people are safe, empowered, and surrounded by people that support them.
As well as cakes, there was Zooper Doopers, face painting and a plethora of purple!
By wearing purple, we showed our rainbow young people that they are celebrated and respected, acknowledging all have the right to be proud of who they are and who they are becoming.
Thank you to everyone who supported the Rainbow Club in their awesome ‘Wear It Purple Day’ event! The Rainbow Club will continue to run on Tuesdays as part of the Wellbeing Club. All are welcome!
