Gardening

We've had a great start to the semester of gardening so far with students in years 3 -6.
The farm space has been weeded and organised, soil moved and is ready to be planted out for Spring.
We have been busy harvesting leafy greens such as rainbow chard, bok choy, warrigal greens and kale to share with the community.
We are learning about soil types and have done some experiments on the different types in our school using ribbon testing techniques and measuring the pH.
Our compost system is working well - we are loving our new compost sifter cleverly crafted by Xanthe's dad!
Students have been fascinated by the wonderful world of fungi as we've shared stories about Mycology, investigated specimens under Microscopes, and crafted new specimens using clay.
