Senior Co-curricular Sports
Term 3 Information
This Saturday 1 August, our Senior School sports teams play their final round before finals commence on Saturday 8 August.
Pink Round
Just a reminder that this week, Saturday 1 August (Week 2) is the scheduled PINK ROUND for sport.
In support of Australians affected by breast cancer, School Sport Associations SAAS, SACSSGSA and IGSSA have scheduled PINK ROUND into our sports fixture calendars for all sports games in our associations from 27 July – 2 August 2026.
We encourage players, officials, supervisors, and spectators to wear some PINK to raise breast cancer awareness, generate discussion encouraging breast screening, and show support for the 20,000+ women and men diagnosed with breast cancer in Australia every year. It would be great to see lots of you wearing pink socks and/or ribbons at your netball games on Saturday 1 August.

Intercol Competition
Our annual intercollegiate competition between Mary Mackillop College and Loreto College will take place on Wednesday 26 August 4:00pm – 6:15pm at Mary MacKillop College. This event strengthens the shared community between our two schools. We cannot wait to see the Loreto community come together in support of our teams, showcasing the Loreto spirit. We hope to see many of you there cheering our teams on.
Knockout Competition
Our Knockout teams continue to compete in the Statewide Competition representing Loreto well. Some of the games we have in coming weeks include:
• Years 7-9 Football, Round 1: Thursday 6 August
• Years 7-12 Soccer, Round 1: Friday 7 August
• Years 7/8 Netball, Round 2: Monday 10 August
• Years 9/10 Netball, Round 2: Monday 10 August
Congratulations to our Year 11/12 team on their outstanding performance in the Division 1 Knockout Netball competition. Although they were defeated by Immanuel in Round 2, they played with great skill and teamwork throughout both Round 1 and Round 2. They should be incredibly proud of the way they represented Loreto.
Student Achievements
At the end of June, Jasmine (Year 12) proudly represented South Australia at the Australian Gymnastics Championships. Being selected for the State team once again was a wonderful achievement, and Jasmine went on to deliver an outstanding performance.
Jamsine qualified for the all-around final in her division, before earning a bronze medal on beam and sharing the gold medal on floor.
It was a fitting reward for the years of hard work, dedication and commitment she has shown to the sport she loves.
Rebecca (Year 7) has enjoyed an outstanding year on the badminton court, claiming gold medals in Girls' Doubles at both the 2026 South Australia State Under 15 Badminton Championships and the 2026 SA State Under 15 Aged Titles. She also won gold in Women's Singles at the 2026 City of Adelaide Championships, an open senior tournament with no age restrictions.
Adding to these impressive achievements, Rebecca has recently been selected to represent South Australia in the Under 15 State Team. She will compete at the 2026 YONEX Under 15 and Under 19 Australian National Badminton Championships in Melbourne later this year. We wish her all the best for this competition.
Congratulations to Abbey (Year 8), Grace (Year 9) and Mia (Year 8) on their representation in the SA State Football (AFLW) team! It was great to see Loreto so well represented in the team's leadership, with Grace and Mia appointed co-captains for the South Australian team.
Congratulations to Lucy (Year 8) on her excellent results at the Swimming State Championships. She has just competed in Melbourne, winning a silver in the 100 butterfly and a gold in the 100 freestyle. An incredible achievement – well done, Lucy!
