Congratulations to Year 12 student, Ritkriti Melam, who received an Australia India Multicultural Award (AIMA) on Sun 16 Aug 2026.

The Australia India Multicultural Awards are a premier recognition platform celebrating outstanding individuals, community leaders, and young achievers who build cultural bridges, drive positive change, and contribute meaningfully to Australian society.

Ritkriti received this recognition for her exceptional dedication to civic leadership, academic rigor, and community impact. 

As a Wantirna College VCE student, SRC President, Kwong Lee Dow Young Scholar at the University of Melbourne, and a youth representative for over 17,000 young people on the Knox Council Youth Advisory Committee, she has consistently used her voice to champion youth representation and inclusive decision-making.

Her journey also bridges her passion for STEM—highlighted by her space industry studies at Swinburne University, five years participating in the NASA Space Apps Challenge (earning multiple Global Nominations), and national cybersecurity work experience with the Australian Signals Directorate (ASD)—alongside celebrating her cultural roots through Carnatic music and the arts.
