Year 8 Girls Inter-School Basketball 

On Monday 3 August, Wantirna College Year 8 girls participated in the Inter-School Basketball Competition, with our students competing against a number of schools throughout an exciting and action-packed day.

Our Year 8 Girls A Team had an incredible day on the court, demonstrating fantastic teamwork, determination and school spirit. With the support of their wonderful coach, Matilda and, of course, a few well-earned lollies, the team created plenty of great memories throughout the day!

The girls played exceptionally well, winning against a number of strong teams and only narrowly losing to Rowville by just six points. Their hard work and determination paid off, with the team finishing the day on a high and proudly representing Wantirna College.

We would also like to acknowledge our other Year 8 Girls Basketball Team, who unfortunately did not progress through to the finals. Despite this, the team showed great resilience, teamwork and perseverance throughout the day. Under the guidance of their amazing coach, Asha, the girls continued to support one another, work hard and represent the college with pride. So much fun was had and new friendships were made along the way.

A huge congratulations to all of our Year 8 girls for their fantastic efforts, positive attitudes and the way they represented Wantirna College. Thank you also to our coaches, Matilda and Asha, for giving their time and energy to support our students throughout the day. Well done, everyone!
