In 4W, each student was allocated a country to follow during the FIFA World Cup by random spinner. We will learn about our country's team, culture, and results throughout the tournament. It’s exciting to watch their matches and see how they perform. We can share interesting facts and updates with the class as the World Cup progresses 

Kenzie - My country is Iraq. We played and lost against Norway. I know that the capital city is Baghdad.

Carter - I’m following Norway in the world cup. They won against Iraq. Norway has the northern lights.

Abby - In the FIFA World Cup I am following Japan. When they played they tied with the Netherlands. Japan has never won a world cup.

Tilley - I’m following Panama. They played and lost against Ghana. Panama is shaped like an S on its side.

Indi - In the FIFA World Cup I am following Croatia. Croatia lost 4 - 2 against England. Croatia is a country in Europe.

Ruby - I’m following. Paraguay. They played against the USA and lost, it was zero to four. We got flogged! Paraguay is near Bolivia and Brazil in South America.

Connor - I am following Argentina. Argentina won 3 nil over Algeria. Argentina is known for having some of the world’s best beef.

Charlotte - I am following Ecuador in the World Cup. When they played they lost to Ivory Coast. Ecuador was named Ecuador because the equator runs straight through the middle of it.

Lincoln - I am following Germany for the world cup. They won 7 to zero against Curacao. Germany started World War Two and is a really good team. They have lots of experience.

Maci  - Sweden is my country at the World Cup. Sweden has played and beat them five to one.  Sweden has never won the world cup. It gets really cold there.

Alastair - Uzbekistan is my country. I’m writing this in the middle of the game, at the moment they are at half time and one down. Uzbekistan is in central Asia near Russia.

Poppy - In the World Cup I’m following Switzerland. They played Qatar and drew. Switzerland is where my nana came from.

Lilly - I am following Spain in the cup. They drew with Cape Verde. This was a surprise because Spain is really good. Spain speak Spanish as does Argentina because the Spanish took over them.

Lachlan - I’m following Columbia and they have played in a quarter final at the world cup. At half time at the moment I think it will be over if we score another goal. Colombia is a country in the north of South America.

Skye - I’ve got Curacao. They lost against Germany. It is their debut at a world cup and is a tiny nation. It is an island in the Caribbean

Eliza - At the World Cup I’m following Scotland. I like doing the accent. Scotland won against Haiti. Scotland is one of the nations in the United Kingdom.

Barry - My country for the FIFA World Cup is Canada. They tied with Bosnia and Herzegovina. The capital of Canada is Ottawa.

Jim - I am following Turkiye and happy to be one of the first teams playing. They played the Socceroos and Australia won. My country is in both Europe and Asia.

Mitchell - I am following Mexico. Mexico beat South Africa who were no good two goals to none. Mexico has good tacos.

Lulu - At the FIFA World Cup I am following Australia. We played Turkiye and scored two goals to none. The Socceroos have never made it to a semi-final.
