Mrs Dale Cain

FIRST HOLY COMMUNION

Congratulations to Jessica Miller who made her First Holy Communion on Sunday.  We are sure it was a very special day for you and your family.

CONFIRMATION

Thank you to all of the parents who attended the information night for Confirmation last week.  It was great to see so many in attendance.

Confirmation Masses are 6pm Saturday 14th November and 10am Sunday 15th November.  Please ensure you indicate which mass you wish to attend.

Fr Roel has stated any students not enroled prior to THIS FRIDAY (23rd October) will not be permitted to receive the sacrament this year and will have to wait until next year.  The enrolment forms can be dropped into the box at the door of the parish office.  Please ensure your child's forms are in by this Sunday.  This decision has been made to enable planning for numbers. At this stage numbers in the Cathedral are limited to 100 people. Parents are asked to let the parish know how many people you would like to attend.  A decision will be made on how many will be allowed per candidate once enrolments are finalised after Friday.

Confirmation cards must be handed into the parish office by the 1st November.  If the person you have chosen as sponsor is in a COVID hotspot it is possible to have a proxy fill in for them on the day.

Confirmation candidates will meet the Bishop at 4pm on Friday 6th November.  The Bishop will talk to the children about what they know about their chosen Saint as well as what will happen at Confirmation.  Candidates will have a complete run through and be shown where they will sit.

St Mary's children will attend Reconciliation at school on the 6th November, in preparation for Confirmation.  If your child is away from school on this date they can make their Reconciliation that afternoon, either prior to, or after practice with the Bishop.

ARMIDALE VINNIES COMMUNITY SLEEPOUT

A reminder that families are invited to participate in the first Armidale Vinnies Family Sleepout on Friday 23rd October.  The sleepout is being held to highlight homelessness in our local community.  Families are asked to sleepout at home in their cars, backyard or lounge.

The goal is to raise $10 000 to assist in local Vinnies services and programs.  In the face of drought, bushfires and a global pandemic, the record number of job losses and the surge in demand for services, more people are turning to Vinnies for help.

Participants will join a live stream. This will be hosted by 2GB and Channel 9 presenter Deborah Knight, connecting them to speakers sharing their experiences, inspiring videos and live crosses around the state.
