REFLECTION

October is a month dedicated to the Rosary.  It has been said this month of devotion was started by Pope Leo XIII.  In a letter dated September 1, 1883, he shared the triumphs of the Rosary in the past and requested the faithful to pray the rosary daily as a devotion to the Blessed Virgin in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament.  He strongly believed in the Rosary's power to strengthen faith and foster a life of virtue.

Pope John Paul II's Apostolic Letter Rosarium Virginis Mariae (On the Most Holy Rosary) explains the Rosary further.  He also introduces the mysteries of light, or Luminous mysteries. A link to this letter is included if you would like to read it.

Prayer of St. Louis de Montfort

O Jesus living in Mary, come and live in Your servants, in the spirit of Your holiness, in the fullness of Your might, in the perfection of Your ways, in the truth of Your virtues, in the communion of Your mysteries.
