The Adventure of the 2024 New ZealandTrip is Calling!

Imagine a place like nowhere else in the world … A place so stunning, it’s hard to believe it is real.  A place full of unique creatures, unforgettable landscapes, a fiercely proud warrior People — and the incredible locations that became Middle-Earth!

 

Come on an adventure that will take your breath away.... come on the Girton New Zealand Trip in December 2024!

 

Girton Grammar School is once again proudly offering students who are in Years 7 to Year 11 in 2023, (Year 8 to Year 12 in 2024) the opportunity to ‘Cross the Ditch’ next year and take in all that is awesome and awe-inspiring in Aotearoa, the Land of the Long White Cloud — New Zealand.

 

Our trip is 7 days, from Monday 9th to Sunday 15th December 2024, and travels across the North and South Islands of New Zealand, taking in incredible sights and offering extraordinary experiences. In no way does the trip impact student studies as the academic year has concluded by this time, and Speech Night has been celebrated before we leave.

 

So, what do we include in 7 action-packed days?

  • We experience Maori culture, get involved in learning the Haka in a cultural performance, learn to row a waka canoe, and feast on a traditional Maori hangi!
     
  • We visit the ACTUAL MOVIE SET of HOBBITON, and take a tour through the Special Effects Department of Weta Workshop—the people who made The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit film trilogies.
     
  • We helicopter over spectacular mountain ranges and touch–down on the largest ice glacier in New Zealand! Get ready for snow-ball fights!
     
  • We witness boiling geysers gush 30 metres into the air, visit World Heritage landscapes that feature volcanoes and deep blue glacial lakes, and visit the International Antarctic Centre!
     
  • And did I mention - we go Jet-Boating Through Canyons, Parasail Over Lakes, Street-Luge Down Mountains and Soak In Bubbling Thermal Hot Pools!
