English Department News
On behalf of the English Department, I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to Term 2. This term is already shaping up to be an exciting, innovative, and engaging one for all with more student workshops, parent workshops, and information evenings, all accompanied by our evolving curriculum to provide students with transformational and innovative learning experiences.
At this point, I would like to take this opportunity to introduce Mr Jack Bordin who will be joining the English and Humanities Department and will be teaching in the Year 7 and 8 space in both subject areas. Mr Bordin joins us as an energetic and enthusiastic educator who continuously seeks the best pedagogical practices for the students in his classes. We welcome Mr Bordin and know he is going to make a difference for the students of Girton Grammar School.
We are thrilled to announce two upcoming English Workshops run by Girton's English Department for students and parents. These workshops aim to equip students with inferential reading skills and provide parents with an understanding of high-level English responses in Australian Curriculum and VCE.
The Inferential Reading workshop for students will be held on Thursday 11th May, with a morning and afternoon session available. Students can register here.
The Parent Workshop, "What a high-level response in Year 7 to 10 and VCE English looks like," will be held on Thursday 18th May. The parent session will be recorded for those unable to attend.
We believe that these workshops will be invaluable for both students and parents, and we hope to see you there. The link to secure your spot at these sessions has been emailed to both parents and students, or you can register here.
If you ever have any compliments, concerns, or queries, please don’t hesitate to contact your child’s English teacher or myself.
Here's to another great term at Girton Grammar!
