Winter Solstice celebration

Mulberry Community Garden is celebrating the Winter Solstice with a bonfire, free soup and lantern making on Sunday, June 18.

Put on your ugliest jumper and enjoy a fabulous and free afternoon with the family. The garden is right next door to Glenroy College, on Glenroy Rd.

Free tennis class for students

Glenroy College students can try tennis for free at Glenroy Community Tennis Club this term.

Is your teen interested in learning how to swing a racquet? Think they might even be the next Federer? Get them to head down to the club in Ash Court, Glenroy and join a group class after school. They might just find a new favourite sport!

Everything else families need to know is in the flier, so click for more information.

Free pool lifeguard training for senior students

Merri-bek Council is offering free lifeguard training to local teens. You will learn first aid skills and what to do when people are in trouble in the water.

The training takes place over three days in Coburg during the upcoming school holiday break. Students who pass the training might even get a part-time lifeguard job at a local pool.

You must be able to swim 200 metres in under 6 minutes, and be least 17 years old, to apply.

Check the flyer for more information.

The Science Experience

Here's a great chance for Year 9 and 10 students with a passion for science to work with real scientists on a wide range of fascinating science activities over the school holidays or next semester.

Students perform experiments in real laboratories, meet and hear senior lecturers in the lecture theatres, attend site visits and walk around and experience what it is like to be on the campus of a university or tertiary institution.

The program also provides information about further studies in science, technology and engineering. It highlights the wide range of careers that allow students to pursue their interest and abilities in the sciences.

Visit The Science Experience website, download the brochure below or speak to our own Science Domain Leader Ms Stephenson at Glenroy College to find out more.
