What's happening in Years 10, 11 and 12.
Welcome to Senior School. It's been another stretch of learning and growing and our senior school students have been kicking educational goals:
Year 12 Health and Human Development students had a fantastic excursion to the Melbourne Museum earlier this term to learn about the Ottawa Charter and investigate the sustainable development goals. Students got to immerse themselves in the interactive road to zero program and met the Year 12 health and human development examiners.
Our Year 11 students have been working hard to complete their art portfolios. The talent in this class is enormous. Here's a little taste at some of the art our VCE students are creating with Mr Saker. Impressive, isn't it?
Our Year 10 Forensic Science class got a taste of what it's like to be a forensic scientist when they visited the Gene Technology Access Centre in Parkville last week. The students worked in teams using real-life science techniques including fingerprint and poison analysis, to crack a crime.
Year 10 students have also been busy selecting their subjects for next semester and making some serious decisions about their future. Students have used their Education and Careers portfolios as inspiration to frame their subject choices. Part of that future pondering includes what English and Mathematics subjects they might like to tackle now and in the future. We have also launched our alternative pathways program for those students considering trades and hands-on work over further study.
