Music Report

In Classroom Music this term our Year 8 students are learning how to read and write music notes and rhythms, and are starting to play piano with both hands. Year 9 Music Elective students are composing original music tracks to go with an action scene in their video games and are also playing keyboards during their practical sessions.

Instrumental Music students are continuing to make great progress learning to play their instruments and are gaining more confidence when playing in front of each other.

We are looking forward to showcasing some of our students' talents In Term 3, so look out for concert and assembly performance announcements soon!

An important reminder: It is essential that all instrumental music students go to PAC for their allotted lessons on time. It is their responsibility to know when their lessons are on. This information is published on Teams each week and printed timetables are put up around the school. Lessons are only 30 minutes long and music teachers can't search for students who forget to come.

Currently we have Piano and Woodwind lessons on Monday and Friday, Guitar and Bass on Tuesday, Drums on Wednesday and Singing on Thursday. If you or your friends are interested in learning one of these instruments, sign-up forms for Semester 2 are available from the office or Mrs McGibbon.

Finally, students who need to hire a guitar, bass or keyboard for home practice can collect a hire form from the office or from Mrs McGibbon.
