ACC Cross Country and Senior Basketball

Runners represent SNC

ACC Basketball ChampionshipsAs many as 5000 students from 71 schools descended on Floreat's Alderbury Reserve for the ACC Cross Country - including 70 runners from St Norbert College.

Our team arrived with plenty of training under their belt, prepared to put their best feet forward.

The day started with the Year 7s and Year 8s running in the event for the first time (as it was cancelled last year). Each race included 450 competitors and to see such positive results over the course of the day was a fantastic.

The results from this year were a big improvement since 2019 when St Norbert College only had four students inside the Top 100.

SNC Highlights of the Day:

  • Year 7 Connor O’Byrne  - 8th Place
  • Year 8 Jacob Andrews   - 5th Place
  • 12 Students inside 100
  • Four Year 8 Girls inside the Top 100

A big thank you to Miss Isard, Mrs Bone and Mr Aquino for their assistance with training and the day operations.

ACC Basketball Championships

In recent weeks the surgence of our St Norbert College Senior Basketball teams in the ACC championships has been on the rise.

The Senior Boys won their first-round playoff game against Kennedy (61-35) - only to lose the quarter final to a well-drilled and disciplined Kingsway College (64-37). The Senior Boys had an exceptional season with plenty of positives to come from it. This year’s team certainly showed that the Canons are in good hands moving forward as this was the best performance by a Senior Boys team for a number of years.

The Senior Girls started their ACC Championship campaign with a win 47-34 vs All Saints. The girls then enjoyed a massive crowd in the ORC against Kingsway to run away victorious 48-29.

On Tuesday the girls cemented their place in the ACC Championship grand final with a big win over Sacred Heart 68-39.

The grand final will be played in Week 10 at Warwick Stadium.
