Principal's Report

Welcome to Term 3! I trust everyone is feeling rested after the holiday break.

I wish to acknowledge Ms. Karen Shiel and Ms. Eloise Haynes for leading the school during my Long Service Leave. Thank you must also go to Ms. Fiona Vanstan for stepping into the Acting Assistant Principal position. I am always comforted by the fact that at I have such a professional leadership team.

I am pleased to welcome our new Student Services Team Leader, Ms. Debbie Edwards. Debbie has extensive experience in many schools and will oversee Student Wellbeing and Engagement, Careers and Pathways and Inclusion. Debbie and her team have many new and exciting programs to support our students.

This term we also welcome back Ms. Jess Fagan. Jess returns from family leave.

My Paul Broecker, Assistant Principal from Fountain Gate SC, has joined HPSC as part of a 'Unlocking Potential' Professional Learning Course that he is undertaking. Paul will be working at HPSC for the first 3 weeks of term and then will return later in the term.

Next week on Wednesday July 24th, I encourage families to attend our Later Years Expo. You can read more information about this event on the Middle School page.

I also wish to invite families to attend a special viewing of an award-winning film Most Likely to Succeed, on Wednesday July 31st . Our world is changing rapidly, and yet our education system is based on the industrial model. The film challenges thinking about how education is delivered and considers the skills required to meet the challenges of this century.

Following the screening, I will be informing families as to the new learning programs that will be offered to students in 2020.
