Student Leadership

Student Leader Update

Welcome to Term 3! We hope everyone had a great break and is ready to come back even stronger than ever. Now that we're refreshed, we're roaring and ready to go. So far this year we have not only increased student input within the college but we have analysed and broken down this information into actions we can take to continually strive for improvement. This term we aim to collect and implement more of this data to maximise the learning opportunities in our community.

Passion Project Update

To add to this, our Passion Projects are really starting to take shape and we are growing more and more excited to present them. Our task has been to address an aspect of the community where we feel we could educate and raise awareness, provide support to groups within the community or connect and empower staff, students and families. These can be inspired by local or international events, charities, organisations or ideas that we feel can improve not only our lives but the lives of others too. Thus, we have chosen to target connectedness within the college, physical activity in youth, expression through art, and supporting the charity organisation Fairshare.

Things have already begun, but students should keep an eye out in the coming weeks and get ready to learn, try, share and be inspired by the ideas and opportunities we have in store for our Hampton Park community. We can't wait!

Staff vs Students Check In

Lastly, it is my utmost pleasure to cry, UP THE STUDENTS!!!!!!!

While, technically, we are not the current leaders of the annual Staff versus Students Championship, we are champions simply in the way we have risen through adversity to show the staff we cannot be beaten so easily!

We are clawing our way back from 1:4 to 4:5 and we can assure everyone that the Class of 2019 is not going down without a fight. We will bring honour to us all!

SRC News

Last term, the SRC leaders joined forces to support the annual “Be The Change” night. We were all pleased and glad to celebrate this night of achievements with the Year 9’s as they presented us with outstanding charities that are smashing obstacles and improving lives and experiences all around the world. We would like to congratulate the runner ups and winners, as well as thank all of the Integrated Studies teachers who have put all their time and effort to making this night possible. The SRC team would also like to announce that $803 was raised on the last out of school uniform day and are greatly appreciative to students and their families for their contributions. We can’t wait to spend this money on what the students have voted for; being  new sport equipment for everyone is free to use outside of class time. Lastly, we would like to inform everyone that the SRC team will be gathering in the upcoming week to plan the next out of school uniform day and for the Jeans for Genes day on the 2nd of August. We will also be working closely with the wellbeing team to celebrate  "R U OK Day?" and look forward to spreading support and positivity to ensure mental wellness to the community.

Looking forward to it and thank you for all your support!

The ranks of the houses currently, in fourth place is Cairns but not too far behind, in third we have Fordholm. In second place we have Sommerville meaning in first is Reagans!
