Whole School Assembly

Our College Captains and SRC did an outstanding job planning and delivering the Term 3 Assembly. I am continually blown away by their commitment to our community, their professionalism and ability to collaborate.

With an outstanding performance of the Australian National Anthem by Tyla Mcgregor, Amelia James and Tyler Sheridan acknowledging the traditional owners of the land, the assembly showcased some excellent public speaking and ongoing achievements of students at HPSC.

A massive thank you to the following students for their huge contribution in the set up and pack down of the event, it is greatly appreciated and would not have been as successful without you:

  • Andrew Roberts
  • Siopu Aso
  • Tyla McGregor
  • Max Tunuufi Pualau
  • Frankie Tinifu
  • Jada McGregor
  • Lejla Estrefi
  • Georgia Dykes

Sporting Success

Congratulations are required for some outstanding sporting achievements from late last term.

HPSC had some extremely successful students head out on Rugby and Soccer and we would like to acknowledge their performances.

First a big congratulations to the Male Under 18s Rugby 7 team; Leo, Christian, Izack, Henry, Pene, Clayton, Eliyah, Jaksyn, Jayden, Jordan Bonney, Jordan Meni, Tyler, Vatican, Ryan, Ezekiel and PK. After a massive day of competition, brilliant teamwork and leadership the boys came away second in the state and we are very proud of your efforts.

Another huge congratulations is in order to the male and female soccer teams in Year 8 for taking out the competition in our division, both coming first!

The day was full of bad weather but that didn’t stop them both winning the flag and representing our school brilliantly with their skill and their determination. These two teams will be competing in the upcoming SMRs and we wish you the best of luck!

Student Voice Forum

On June 27th, the Term 2 Student Voice Forum was held.

This was a fantastic session where students worked together, demonstrating high level communication, collaboration and leadership by giving feedback on teaching, learning and engagement at HPSC.

A huge thank you and congratulations must go to the College Captains and Student Domain Leaders for their leadership of the forum, and to all staff and students involved.

We value all of your feedback, effort and positive contribution to our community!

4C's Update

Over the last term students have been working extremely hard towards developing their performances for the 4C's event which focuses on cultivating creative culture within communities.

Carmel, Abigail, Pene, Izack, Konrad and Tommy have shown incredible leadership working together with 79 of our students  from all year levels who have been practicing at lunch times and during the holidays for the past term preparing their performances for the 4C's Event.

After 12 weeks of rehearsals, HP's show is looking fantasic and we are excited to share this with you on the night. Students will be performing traditional and original Samoan, Maori and Cook Island songs and dances. A massive thank you to Miss Jean Pierre and Miss Newton for their dedication to supporting our students and their preparation of this event with weekly lunchtime rehearsals and supervising a holiday rehearsal. Staff V Students

Lucky for the students, the Touch Rugby game has them finally getting a glimpse of what a win in 2019 might look like.

The score is currently sitting on 5-4 to the staff. Although staff are holding strong, students will be tested over the next few weeks with Petanque for French Week, Relays for Athletics, some touch typing is on its way and some cake decorating. Let's see who has better fine motor skills and patience over the coming weeks before the Netball, Basketball and Redemption Rounds strike.

Next event: Petanque on the Oval – Friday 26th July

Upcoming Opportunities

Now it is time for an update on some opportunities for HPSC students.

ACE Foundation Homework Support

The ACE Foundation is now offering Homework support. This will begin afterschool on Tuesdays and is free of charge. This will be including some afternoon tea for those participating. These sessions will be held every Tuesday, 1.30pm till 6pm at the ACE Foundation on Fordholm Road.

Outer Urban Projects

Another great opportunity is a new program for budding rap artists. Outer Urban Projects are going to run sessions from the HP library to work on writing lyrics and making music with a professional rapper. These sessions are free of cost, all you need to do is head down and sign in at the library.

Le Mana Empower Pasifika

Additionally we have the next Le Mana Empower Pasifika group beginning next week and we are excited to provide a program encompassing culture, identity and leadership.
