College Easter Vigil 2020

Every year members of the Student Leadership Group and volunteers from the students of the College, under the guise of the Liturgy Captain, prepare an Easter Vigil dramatization of key Stations of the Cross and present this to the College’s Year 11 and Year 12 students in separate presentations. This was well underway during the term. The College choir, led by Rebekah Vandenberg, practiced the music throughout their lunchtimes during the  term to accompany the actors. Unfortunately, in an unprecedented move, school was forced to go to an online learning platform and consequently, the students and choir were unable to present what is typically a beautiful, yet moving performance of the Passion of Christ. In place of the presentation, some prayers and online clips that represented a snippet of the Passion of Christ was uploaded to the College’s Pastoral Care program for Friday 17 March. As we move into physical distancing, it is evermore important to maintain our Christian traditions and rites of passage. Easter is the pinnacle on the Christian calendar and I encourage you all to remember the real story of Easter and the purpose behind the life, death and ultimate resurrection of Jesus Christ.

May you all have a blessed and safe Easter 2020.
