Introducing the 2020 VPA Captain

As the Visual and Performing Arts Captain of 2020, I am excited to encourage creative thinking through a range of activities and competitions celebrating the visual and performing arts. I would like to aid in promoting the college musical We Will Rock You and will encourage students to become involved by advertising the backstage roles and holding a poster competition to assist in ticket sales for the shows. Throughout the year, I would like to cater for all arts using my knowledge to help other students with both their folio studies and creative endeavours, if there is enough interest, I will trial lunchtime classes and clubs to stimulate artistic thinking and performance. These activities may include; developing an idea, drawing, photography, drama and folio assistance. I also encourage any students who have already completed units 3 &4 of a visual or performing arts subject to share their knowledge in areas of focus that I am not as familiar with. I will try to promote more lunch time performances to any students who would like to participate rather than just to those students who study music performance to support students’ confidence and ability to put themselves out there to showcase their talents. If our college principal will allow, I would like students to create a collaborative piece that we can display on the school grounds such a mural on a blank wall depicting this year’s college theme of “setting the world on fire”.
