Ash Wednesday

Ash Wednesday, 26 February, marked the beginning of the Christian Lenten journey. Students and staff at CRC Sydenham ran liturgies in their homerooms. These liturgies comprised of students and their teachers praying together and distributing the Ashes. The College community, led by the Student Leadership Group, advertised the annual Philippines appeal where staff and students were encouraged to bring in a non-perishable food product to be donated to the people of the Philippines. The College was overwhelmed by the generosity of the students and their families in which much needed food was donated and sent to the Philippines. Christina Santalucia, on behalf of the Holy Spirit of Freedom Community-Philippines Ministry kindly accepted the goods on behalf of her organization and has organized them to be sent abroad to the Philippines. Finally, thank you to the staff, students, the Student Leadership Group and each Tutor Leader for coordinating this event and supporting the cause.
