Congratulations to Mrs Emma Smith and the 7/8 girls touch football team who finished Runners Up against Kildare Catholic College in the final of the NSW regional competition. The girls played well all day, only being defeated in the final match of the day.

Thank you to Mrs Smith for coaching the team on the day.

Futsal Gala Days

During Week 6, the College entered several age divisions into the Regional Futsal Championships. The 14’s girls team were entered into the 16’s and seniors competition due to lack of competition numbers which allowed them to experience strong competition throughout the day. Congratulations to the 14’s boys team who won their overall age division and to the Open Girls team who finished Runners Up, narrowly defeated in a penalty shoot out.

Congratulations to all of the players who participated with stamina and sportsmanship.

CIS Football Trials

Alethea Levy, Bryce Falepau and Casey Smith all trialed for the CIS Football teams in Sydney on Monday 31st May. Whilst each player was unsuccessful in their individual pursuits, they all had a wonderful experience playing in their trial team and playing football amongst talented players. Bryce played for GPS for most of the tournament and they finished third overall. Alethea’s team, CSSA won the competition!

BISSA Athletics - Postponed

Due to a COVID-19 lockdown in Victoria, the BISSA Athletics carnival was postponed. The new date has been set for the 20th July. All event information is supplied on the BISSA Athletics event on Compass. Please ensure that approval has been supplied. A meeting with the College team will take place early next term.

Cochrane Cup 14’s Boys Rugby League

On Wednesday, 20 students from the College participated in the annual Cochrane Cup 14’s boys rugby league competition held at Equex.

The following schools entered the competition; The Riverina Anglican College, Mater Dei Catholic College, Kildare Catholic College, and St Francis College. We played our first game against St Francis, finishing the game at 18-18. The match went to golden point and in the last seconds of extra time, St Francis scored to win the game. We then played Mater Dei in the second game. While we competed with true spirit, their efforts in the first game didn't leave too much left in the tank and they were beaten 16-12. The conditions were cold and miserable but the team showed great determination on the footy field.

Thanks to Mr. Ian Begg for coaching the team on the day.

Rugby 7’s Gala Day

On Thursday, the College took seven teams to the annual Rugby 7’s competition which was held at Connolly Park. We were represented in the 7-8 boys and girls, 9-10 boys and girls and 11-12 boys and girls divisions.

The 9-10 girls and the 11-12 girls both finished runners up, with both teams now qualifying for the competition in ACT in Term 3.
