Nazareth House French Day

McCarthy Students’ visit Nazareth House - French Day

Last Tuesday, 23 July, 6 students from McCarthy visited Nazareth House to participate in their 'French Day'. It was organised to celebrate Bastille Day (traditionally July 14) with the residents. Eden Filicietti sang the famous French song ‘Champs Elysées’ (from the name of the famous avenue in Paris which leads to the Arc of Triumph), accompanied on the piano by Edward George. The two Distance Education French students were supported by Caitlin Jackson, Katelin Abra, Annabel Kelly and Grace Salkeld, 4 fantastic Year 8 French students volunteers who sang the chorus. The students then served macaroons, made specially for the occasion, while connecting with Nazareth House residents who were more than delighted to meet them. They then helped organise games and everyone sang ‘Frere Jacques’ in round.

The visit was a great success and the students enjoyed this special excursion.

Congratulations and a big thank you to them for sharing their love of the French language, culture and their musical talent with the community!
