The Resilience Project

Year 1 Resilience Project

Over the last fortnight The Year One students have been exploring different strategies around controlling their emotions, including how to calm down both body and mind. Using The Resilience Project lessons, the students created a list of ways they can relax when they are feeling stressed or overwhelmed.

The students enjoyed watching a video presented by Martin from The Resilience Project. Martin talked about the importance of accepting ourselves for who we are.

Macy in 1D has been enjoying watch GEM TV with her family! (see above photo)

Our Music Captains and Tech Leaders

This year was to be our concert year.

Our Music captains and Music Tech captain felt the loss of this opportunity very keenly. Rather than just feeling sad about it, they came up with a beautiful project to help us to feel more connected and to show how much they care about our welfare. Charlotte, Zoe and Luca invited students to participate in a virtual choir singing “You’ve Got a Friend” by Carole King. They also sourced an expert in AUSLAN to teach us the sign language, to be truly inclusive.

The Music teachers congratulate them on their initiative in using music to help us all feel more connected.
