Lockdown Poem Esme

Lockdown with family- senses writingpiece

By Esme W 6A

When I am in lockdown with my family I see,

Daniel Andrews always on the TV,

My mum doing her online pilates,

Lots of faces on group calls.

When I am in lockdown with my family I hear,

The kettle constantly boiling,

The crashing of plates being loaded into the dish washer,

My sister having a meltdown because her phones died,

Lots of ladies laughing when my mum is on a call,

Friends in class always chatting.

When I am in lockdown with my family I smell,

Glen-20 being sprayed all over the house,

Soup being cooked in the slow cooker,

My dad's horrible sweat when we do my sisters workout.

When I am in lockdown with my family I feel,

My overworked keyboard on my finger tips as I do work,

The heat of the sun through my bedroom window,

My laptop heating up because it's always on.

When I am in lockdown with my family I taste,

To many homecooked meals such as,

Chicken and chips,

Curry and,

Chicken Wraps and finally,

The salty air when we go for our hours walk by the beach.
