Year 6
Year 6 Science Experiment
One of the Year 6 Additional Learning activities from last week was a science experiment to explore how plants drink water. This was fun and easy to do.
The students watched a YouTube clip https://safeYouTube.net/w/rpiQ and followed the instructions. They were asked to take a photo at the beginning of the experiment and then each following day for the next two days.
Mia from 6B found some daisies on her lunchtime walk and set up her experiment. Here is her description of the process and the results:
These are my dyed daisies. I set up this experiment by filling glasses and jars with water and putting lots of food dye in them. I then cut off the bottoms of the flowers and put them into the jars. I let them sit for three days and then they went all colourful. For some reason the purple didn’t dye but the rest of them look amazing. On the third day they started to wrinkle and die but they were full of colour.
