Library Corner

Best wishes to everyone for a relaxing summer break. It’s been wonderful to have the students embrace the library on site for a full year! Top loans in 2022 for print books include long time favourites the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling and the Rick Riordan series. The graphic novel series ‘Heartstopper’ by Alice Oseman was another very popular series with the Netflix adaptation released earlier this year. In our digital book collection ‘A study in shifters’ by Majanka Verstraete, ‘One of us is lying’ by Karen M. McManus and ‘The invisible life of Addie LaRue’ by V.E. Schwab were the top loaned items. 

Victorian Premiers’ Reading Challenge

Congratulations to the students who completed the 2022 Victorian Premiers’ Reading Challenge. Students were presented their certificates and all went in the draw to win prizes. Congratulations to the winners, Caitlin and Rusham!

Big Summer Read

The Big Summer Read is again taking place at Glen Eira Libraries this summer between 1 December 2022 – 31 January 2023. Summer holidays are the perfect time to indulge in books and read for fun. To play, participants just need to read and log ten or more books to be entered in the prize draw. This year Glen Eira Libraries is offering the following prizes: First Prize: $400 Book Voucher, Second Prize: $300 Book Voucher, Third Prize: $200 Book Voucher There is also a big Statewide draw with even more prizes up for grabs. Library Monitors

We are lucky to have a great team of library monitors who help out in the library with shelving, tidying the library and our displays. Congratulations to Monako who received the Library Monitor Award for Term 4.
