2023 Captains

Hi, my name is Mahima and I am one of the 2023 school captains. I have been at Vermont Primary School since Foundation and I am very proud to be a part of this wonderful school community. I have a younger brother in Grade 4 and my hobbies are reading lots of books, painting and listening to music. I have recently started playing netball which I am really enjoying. Something I am looking forward to doing this year as a school captain is leading the school assemblies and being able to assist with organising fun activities for the students. I am very grateful for this opportunity and hope to do V.P.S. proud!

Hello. My name is Shanuk and I’m one of your 2023 school captains. I play the piano very well and I have been playing it since I was 3 years old. I’m also a very good athlete. My specialty is the 4x100m relay. My club relay team recently made it into State where we came 10th place out of 40 teams. I do karate as well and I go to Lion Bushido Karate Academy. I am a red belt and I have done karate for 6 years. I play cricket for the Vermont South Vultures. I also love swimming. I am in penguin gold, and I go to Aqualink. My favourite hobby is building Lego.  I have a cat named Jenny and I always play with her. I have two wonderful parents who have helped me achieve a lot of things. I have a group of awesome friends who have supported me and encouraged me to do my best. My cultural background is Sri Lanka however, I was born in Australia. I thoroughly enjoyed Year 6 camp and had an amazing experience there. Ski camp is something I’m looking forward to as well as graduation. I can’t wait for all the assemblies and speeches I have ahead of me.

Hi, My name is Emily and I am very excited to be your Cantley captain for 2023.I really like doing netball, gymnastics and travelling with my family, and I can't wait to help plan future events for Vermont Primary School!

My name is Rohan and I am one of the Cantley captains for 2023. Ever since Prep I have wanted to be a captain and with a lot of hard work, I achieved my goal. I like playing basketball and soccer, but I love playing cricket. My favourite subjects are Maths and Literacy. I have a younger brother in Grade 4. In my spare time I like reading and playing with my games like cricket, Monopoly and chess with my brother. I am looking forward to the rest of my captaincy duties this year as it is my last year at V.P.S.

My name is Chi and I am one of the yellow house captains for 2023. I am Vietnamese and has been at Vermont Primary since Prep. I like reading and playing sports. My favourite sports are basketball and gymnastics while my favourite books are the Fair Dinkum Histories series. I want to be an author when I grow up. At school, P.E. is my favourite subject. I am greatly looking forward to leading the school in the year to come.

My name is Aarav and I'm one of your Canterbury house captains. I like to do Maths, ride my bike and play cricket. As your house captain this year I am looking forward to improving the school to make it a better place than it already is it is going to be exciting leading everybody into the better future.

My name is Srihari, and I am one of your Red House Captains. I love to play cricket. I play it in school, out of school, and whenever there is spare time. I also like drawing and reading a lot. I like magic. I like adventure and fantasy books. I always try to spread laughter and comedy around, and try to keep friends, family and a crowd entertained. I also really like food. I am really into sports. I support football, basketball, AFL, but mainly cricket. There are so many things to look forward to, I don't know where to start. We just came back from camp, and it was amazing. I can't wait for Ski Camp. There are some fun excursions to look forward to. The captains also have a special excursion to go to in a few weeks too. We also have some exciting events in store for the school.

I'm Lucie. I'm your Red House captain for 2023 and I'm so happy to be here! I love spending time with little kids, especially my 10 younger cousins, buddy, and my little sister, Amelie. In my spare time I like writing my own novel or playing netball every Saturday. This year I can't wait to make a difference to this school and flourish throughout all the terms!

I am Kaylee from 6AS and one of your Terrara House Captains for this school year 2023. My favourite subjects are Maths and sport and I also enjoy art. I love being outdoors, especially when I am with my family and friends. I have a younger brother, Jacob who is in Grade 3. I am looking forward to representing the school as a House Captain and helping to plan various fun activities for everyone to enjoy.

My name is Ajaiveer. I'm one of the Terrara captains. I'm curious to learn new things and hoping to make more friends along the way. I am looking forward to sharing my knowledge with others and improving the school.
