Parent Online Safety Hub

Parent Online Safety Hub

Last Thursday, Kelly Longworth from YSafe came to talk to our Year 5/6 students and parent community. All three sessions were informative and engaging – jammed packed with the latest information. Of concern was Kelly’s statistics showing that when things go wrong, our children often don’t talk to a trusted adult. This is because they are worried their device will be taken away. Kelly’s advice was “Don’t get furious, get curious!” Ask your child what if anything they would like you to do, by involving them in the solution, you are giving them back some power.

You would have received a link to our special parent online safety hub in a Sentral alert last week.

Here it is again:

vermont.onlinesafetyhub.com.au

The hub contains loads of information for parents/carers from advice to online safety tech, to game and app reviews. Not sure what Omegle is? Need to know how to set up Roblox safely? The safety hub contains all the answers and if it doesn’t you can even request an article!

I hope you find this resource helpful, but remember if you do have any concerns or questions I would love to hear from you – email me or drop in to the Digi Tech lab before/after school
