I would like to encourage all students to please bring their student ID cards with them when they visit the library. Student ID cards help staff with the speed and accuracy of issuing loans. Student ID cards also make printing, photocopying and scanning easier and quicker.
BOOK OF THE WEEK
The following books were recently featured in our Book of the Week display:
The debut thriller by First Nations author Graham Akhurst is an engaging coming-of-age tale about a young Indigenous Australian man discovering who he is and what he stands for. When studying at performing arts school, Jono and his best friend Jenny are picked for an amazing opportunity shooting a documentary in the Western Queensland desert. Never mind that they are actually promoting a mining operation, he’s just thrilled to get the money and the exposure for his career. But when they arrive in Gambari, the small town they are filming in, the reality is vastly different from his expectations. Best suited to 14+
Jayden Jones is missing. Everyone thinks he ran away. His best friend, Zoe Gale, knows they’re wrong. Zoe’s search leads her to The 17 – a secret group chat, used by anonymous teens to blackmail the powerless. What Zoe uncovers will have you sharing an amazing rollercoaster ride of a story in the style that Jack Heath is known and loved for. For 13+
NEW BOOKS
EAST CAMPUS
The bookshelves at East Campus now contain more than 1500 books. Students can grab a book or two and return them when they are finished.
Any students holding on to books they have finished with, please return them to the shelves for other students to read.
ONLINE NEWSPAPERS
The library provides students with access to a range of online resources including access to online newspapers.
The Age Library Edition provides a digital replica of the daily print newspaper and an archive that goes back to 2006. This resource provides scope to research current events as well as explore the history of a particular topic.
Just recently we have expanded to provide online access to The Australian and the Herald Sun as well as other metropolitan and regional newspapers. News Corp online newspapers can be accessed by students on-site at school.
Links to online newspapers are on the library catalogue
