VCE Drama Unit 4 Solo Performances

On Thursday 11 October, our Unit 4 Drama students performed their Solo’s to an evening audience of parents, friends and LHS staff.

The solo task is the biggest performance component of the course and requires students to utilise a range of play-making techniques over a three month period to devise a seven minute non-naturalistic solo performance based on one of the ten characters from the prescribed VCAA list.

This performance was essentially a dress rehearsal before the students are externally assessed later this month.

All of the performances were highly entertaining and the students presented themselves in a most composed and professional manner.

During the evening, experienced VCE Drama staff comprising myself, Angela Louis, Narelle McGrotty and Jono Bleakley provided feedback and advice for the students to use in the final stages of their performance preparation, particularly in the lead up to another performance during the October Arts Festival.

Our Unit 2 students will be performing their Solo’s based on ‘The Great Aussie Invention’ at lunchtime on Thursday 1 November in the Theatre.
