"Sky Hydrant" Fundraiser
On Thursday the 25th of October the year 8 student leaders organised our fundraiser day for our school charity ‘Sky hydrant’ which provides clean drinking water for people in third world countries. The students participated in bowling, watched a movie in performing arts, took part in quizzes, raffles and enjoyed a sausage sizzle for lunch. It was a terrific day, with a fantastic atmosphere and enjoyed by all! All up the year 8s managed to raise around $1200 for the college charity which was a fantastic outcome.
Australian Red Cross Ambassador
On Monday the 22nd of October the year 8 students were fortunate enough to hear from guest presenter and motivational speaker Abdi Aden. Abdi is a Youth worker, author, former refugee and Australian Red Cross Ambassador. Abdi shared his story with our students and his message was incredibly valuable in terms of resilience, perseverance and positivity.
Visit to Monash University
The year 8 students experienced a taste of university life with their Access Monash excursion last week! The students undertook a guided tour of the campus where they were given an insight as to what the Monash Peninsula campus offers and some of the courses that are available to them in the future. The Monash students ran a range of Art and Sport activities for the Mornington students in their state of the art facilities!
Presentation Day
On Thursday the 22nd of November the year 8 students each presented their 'Lock and Load Rocket Launcher' projects to a panel which consisted of their science teachers and parents. The day was a huge success with students presenting some outstanding examples of work.
