Japan Trip 2019

The College has received an invitation from the Osaka Parents and Teachers Association to participate in their Exchange Program in 2019.

As part of this program we will be hosting 20 students and 4 teachers from Osaka while they stay in Mornington, and 20 Mornington Secondary College students from year 8-11 are invited to visit Japan.

While in Japan the students will be ambassadors of Melbourne, the sister city of Osaka, Japan. Each student will be staying with a Japanese host family selected by the Osaka PTA and will attend a Junior High School.

The date of departure from Melbourne is Saturday 14th September and the departure date from Japan is Saturday 28th September (times for departure and arrival to be confirmed).

The estimated cost of the trip is $3000, which includes airfare, insurance, internal travel, sightseeing excursions and extra activities. There is no cost for the main accommodation and meals provided by the host family. A passport will be required. While the itinerary is still to be finalised, we have been advised that it will include a trip to Hiroshima, including overnight accommodation.

A parent information evening will be held on Thursday 29th November at 5.30pm, in the Conference Room at Mornington Secondary College.

After this information night, a non-refundable deposit of $500 will need to be paid by February 15th 2019.
