Industry Tours
Animal Studies Excursion
On Wednesday 17th October a group of Year 9 students took part in an Industry tour to Box Hill Institute of TAFE and the RSPCA in Burwood. The students in the group were those with interests in careers working with animals.
Our tour of Box Hill TAFE included learning about the various Animal Studies courses. These included courses that focus on animal care as well as veterinary nurse. We also visited the different facilities available such as their vet clinic, grooming room and the reptile and rodent centre. This tour helped a lot of students figure out what career path they want to take in the future.
Our visit to the RSPCA started with a presentation of the role of the RSPCA and stories of some of the rescued animals. We toured the facilities and were able to interact with some of the animals (as the photos show). We got to see the adoption centres and all the animals ready for their new home.
The day was very informative and as we are all animal lovers, we had a fantastic time.

Presentation Day
Year 9 Presentation Day saw students present their Community Action Projects. They spoke eloquently on subjects as varied as youth homelessness, waste management and environmental issues concerning the local Mornington community. Based on their extensive research and findings, groups were able to come up with productive solutions to potentially make a massive difference in their world. Well done to all the students, who worked hard and presented with professionalism!
