Applying our learning to decrease food waste

 

Today, 8A made any food they could using food from the pantry. We did this to decrease the amount of food waste we discard of. This term in food tech we have been focusing on food security and sustainability so this task was perfect for showing our skills on this topic. This topic is important to learn about because, with the knowledge, future generations will be a lot more sustainable. At the end of the session, we had a competition to find out which pair in the class had the least amount of food waste, the least was a single eggshell. This session will also be helpful to our class outside of school because now we know an easy, sustainable recipe we can make at home. The photo is of 8A behind the table of food waste. Overall this was a really nice lesson where we could be independent and have lots of fun.
