Monash University excursion

Our year 10 NHS Precious Plastics students recently travelled to Monash University to meet with the Precious Plastics Monash Team. Louis Walmsley - volunteer and Global Science student at Monash took students on a tour of the workshop facilities and gave a presentation on the properties of plastic and the plastic recycling process. Students had the opportunity to explore and engage with plastic products made by the Monash team. We compared our recycling process to theirs and discussed ways of developing design solutions from plastic. We also paid a quick visit to the Monash High Powered Rocketry team who showed us their latest rocket designs and a video of the rocket they took to the Spaceport America Cup 2022. After we enjoyed a lunch together and toured the grounds of Monash.
