Winter Appeal, Year 8 Serving at Home, Wear Your Colours Day, Kimberley Immersion and Norbie Care Meals

Winter Appeal

Thank you for your support of our Winter Appeal. It is so wonderful to see the efforts of our Community helping those in need, including the Knitting Club and friends below.

Year 8 Serving at Home Program

This week the Year 8 Serving At Home Program was launched to our Year 8 students. All students need to complete seven hours of service in their home communities. We appreciate the support of parents by helping and guiding your child through the process. All students received a letter about this in their RE class in Week 3. If you have not received the letter, please ask your child.

Wear Your Colours Day

All students are invited to wear their favourite sporting teams scarf or beanie on Tuesday 8 August and bring in a gold coin to support our Kimberley Immersion charities. This is a wonderful opportunity to show your support for your favourite team, especially during Derby week.

Kimberley Immersion Donations

We are now collecting donations for the Kimberley Immersion, especially the items listed below. Please share the word to family and friends too so that our contribution can have a great impact on the community in Kununurra.

  • Toiletries (sample sized preferred, but any are appreciated)
  • Sanitary pads
  • Bars of soap
  • New toothbrushes and toothpaste (if you're visiting the dentist or orthodontist maybe ask them for a sample)
  • Roll on deodorant  for men and women
  • New underwear for children and women (all sizes and colours)
  • New bras (tip: you can buy these from Big W for $5) and used bras in good condition (all sizes and colours)
  • Used sneakers especially for primary school aged students
  • Used ladies summer clothing (size 16 and above)

Please bring your donations to Student Ministry.

Norbie Care Meals

Our St Norbert College Community has a wonderful tradition of looking after each other, especially those who most need it. This year alone our staff have provided over 50 evening meals for families at our College.

We are looking for some volunteers from our parent community who would like to cook a meal that is suitable to freeze for a family in need or crisis. If you need some inspiration, some meals you could cook include pasta bake, lasagne, curry, soup, meat pies or quiche - but don't be afraid to cook a favourite from your kitchen too.

If you would like to cook a meal for a family this term, please email Ms Margaret Kyd (margaret.kyd@norbert.wa.edu.au) for more information.
